Anna Chianese, M.A.
For the last 20+years, I have worked with children and families throughout the state of NJ diagnosed with various disabilities including autism, attention deficit hyper activity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, bipolar disorder & learning and language impairments. I specialize in behavior interventions and treatments for elementary school aged children, but have extensive experience working with individuals
ages 10 through 21 as well.
I have worked as a District Behaviorist, Applied Behavior Analysis Teacher & Behavior Disabilities Teacher servicing children ages 3-21. I have extensive clinical training and coursework from Caldwell University in Applied Behavior Analysis and have 12 years of experience in the field of ABA within multiple public school settings.
I received my undergraduate degree in Public Relations with a concentration in Non- Profit Organizations and a Minor in Child Psychology from Seton Hall University graduating with highest of honors. After several years of working in the non-profit field, I began my graduate studies at Caldwell University and received my dual teaching certification in general and special education. I further continued my studies and earned my Masters Degree in Special Education and completed my Post-Master's certification in Applied Behavior Analysis graduating with the highest of honors.
My additional work experience in the non profit sector include serving as the Clinical Program Director for Project Win-Win ( an Employment Training Program) at Pathways for Exceptional Children. There I supervised and trained job coaches and student mentors, taught weekly programs, and oversaw the day to day operation of the employment training program for special needs individuals ages 13 to 21 years. I currently serve as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Pathways for Exceptional Children for the 5th consecutive year.
My previous experience in the non-profit sector include working for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NJ as a Wish Granting Coordinator & The Assistant Director of Special Events for 3 years, servicing children and their families who were facing life threatening medical conditions across the state. I collaborated with doctors, medical facilities, non-profit organizations and various businesses throughout NJ and the country. I was responsible for organizing and implementing over 30 special events per year to raise funds for the foundation. In addition, I assisted in training of over 300 volunteers throughout the state. Immediately following my years spend in the nonprofit world, I completed a 1500 hour Child Life Specialist internship at The Goereyb Children's Hospital in Morristown NJ and Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ. My experiences included prepping and desensitizing hospitalized children for procedures including IV starts, MRIs, CAT scans, upcoming and emergency surgeries, blood work, catheter port entries and prolonged hospital stays. In addition, I provided support for parents and siblings during their children's hospital stay.
I believe that my unique, extensive clinical training and work experiences allow me to bring a comprehensive approach to creating the most effective treatment package for addressing your child's needs and celebrating their everyday milestones!

I look forward to meeting you and your child soon!

More About Me
I am the proud mother of Anthony Rocco, my talented, kind, loving and funny 9 year old son. Anthony is the light of my life and he has taught me what the true meaning of love, happiness, compassion and life are all about. He challenges me to put my best foot forward each and everyday and reminds me to "be the change that I wish to see in the world." My spunky 5 year old Mini Golden Doodle Grace has taught me about loyalty & friendship.
I am very passionate about learning and sharing my knowledge of incorporating holistic practices for the mind, body, spirit and emotional well being of the children and families that I work with. Overall optimal wellness should include a child's physical health, daily levels of exercise, balanced nutrition and a full integration of the states of physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This may include practicing mindfulness, guided mediation and yoga, as well as incorporating essential oils and aromatherapy. I have integrated doTERRA essential oils into my families every day routine for the last 8 years to ensure our overall health and well being and to serve as the first line of defense when a health concern arises.
Some of my passions and interests include spending time with my family and friends, attending the theater, cooking and baking, photography, spending time outdoors with my son, traveling, listening to all genres of music, and practicing guided meditation, mindfulness & yoga.
